This family session with the Amberg family was different from all of my past sessions. Instead of shooting outdoors, I had the opportunity to use my house as a studio! I have wanted to take pictures in our kitchen ever since we moved into our new house. I love that Emilia and Caleb were up to trying something new and get some cute cozy photos in there.

This shoot was a combination of a family session and newborn session. Their one month old son Calvin is OBSESSED with the camera! I kept trying to take pictures of his profile but he loved the camera so much he wouldn’t look away! It was absolutely adorable!! Emilia told me the most precious thing Calvin’s grandma says about his ears. She says they have a heart shape in it and so he can only hear sweet things. I love that and it is so true!

While Calvin napped I go the chance to take some photos of just Caleb and Emilia. They love to play cards together and so I busted out a deck of cards. I got the chance to take some photos of them just being themselves. These are the moments that make up your memories. How precious it is to have those captured in a photo forever!

If I was to describe this session in one word it would be relaxing. Caleb said as they left “I love that it was so relaxed!” After we took pictures they sat on the couch and we simply talked while Calvin had a bottle. This is what I LOVE about my job. I love connecting with people and getting to know them. Delivering beautiful pictures is incredibly important, but I also want the experience to be a fun memory for you to look back on! I am so thankful for the opportunity to get to know the Amberg family.
