During my last trip to California I got the honor of taking my friends family pictures at Ventura State Beach. I loved every minute of it! There is nothing better than my job allowing me to spend time with people I love and have the chance to get to know their baby.

I have known Stevie and Jonathan for years. Stevie was my college roommate and Jonathan was a friend from our church college ministry. I had the joy of watching their entire relationship develop. I even got to be apart of their wedding! We have so many memories together of line dancing, halloween parties and late night chats. I love that even with distance and time we can pick up our friendship right where we left off.

Now they have expanded their family, and they have the most beautiful baby boy! He was so sweet and he did such an incredible job throughout the entire session. It is amazing to see them as parents and see how much love they have for him. There is something so special about getting to watch old friends grow their families.

For this session we could not have picked a more beautiful day at the beach. I wasn’t sure what we were going to get because there had been a wind advisory in effect. We had originally planned to do the session in Malibu, but the wind was supposed to be way worse there. When we parked at Ventura State Beach and saw the perfect sky with no wind, we knew it was meant to be. There was surprisingly barely anyone on the beach so we practically had the whole thing to ourselves!

This was one of my favorite sessions ever. Beautiful sunsets, great friends, and hanging at the beach. I hope that I am able to do a session like this every time I visit! Now, enjoy some of the many adorable photos:
