Yesterday I got to go over to my sister-in-law Melissa’s house and do a quick Mother’s Day photo shoot with her and her boys. Right when we got them all ready to head outside into their beautiful field, a crazy thunder storm blew in! Oklahoma weather constantly keeps me on my toes. We decided to instead start with some pictures inside their beautiful kitchen.
My Brother-in-law has been remodeling their house and it is turning out so beautiful! The kitchen is made up of hand picked wood for their flooring, custom designed doors and beautiful white cabinets. It amazes me with how much they have done. It was the perfect start to a mother’s day shoot. I can’t wait to do a cookie baking session with them in their kitchen during the holiday season!
Photos in the Field
The rain thankfully stopped after about 30 minutes so we decided to head outside. Their pasture is my ideal location! There were beautiful yellow flowers everywhere and the trees were all full of leaves. It made me giddy to be out in a lush field with gorgeous lighting! Her horses were out as well, so we decided to bring them in for a few pictures. I always love when clients bring pets into the session. They are loved members of the family. To have pictures with them is always special.
Even though we didn’t get to start the way we planned, I am so happy with how the pictures turned out. Rain or shine a photo shoot can still go on! Sometimes a little scheduling change occurs, but that just means we get to be creative!
This was my third time getting to shoot in this field! To see how beautiful it was in the fall, check out my blog post Taylor Family Photo Session. I could not have asked for a more perfect location and I am so lucky to have family close by who let me take photos of them and use their wild flower fields. Here are a few of the many photos I sent over in the gallery!
